Our Facebook page has replaced the old 'Community Noticeboard' on the website. You can look at the facebook page without being a member, but if you would like to contribute you will need to register with Facebook. You will then be able to share photos of the local area, advertise items for sale, alert neighbours to suspicious activity, report missing pets, anything really that is of interest to the rest of the community.
This website aims to be a useful resource for people living in and visiting Yscir. It is hosted by Yscir Community Council and edited by its clerk. The community of Yscir comprises the hamlets of Aberyscir, Battle, Cradoc and Fennifach in their entirety. It also includes parts of Aberbran and Pontfaen.
There are around 360 residents on the electoral roll. Yscir Community Council represents the community of Yscir. meeting bimonthly. The Council has 7 members elected from the community. The next election will be in May 2027. Further information about the Council is available on the Community Council pages. Yscir together with the communities of Trallong and Merthyr Cynog comprises the County Council area also called Yscir. Iain McIntosh was elected as our County Councillor on 22 June 2017 and re-elected on 5 May 2022.
